Azimuth Round-1 Baccarat

[Press Release] Following the success of the Azimuth SP-1 Roulette unveiled at Baselworld 2009, Luxury watch brand Azimuth introduces another gaming-inspired timepiece – the World’s First Round -1 Baccarat. Based on the card game’s four possible outcomes – ‘player’, ‘banker’, ‘pair’ and ‘tie’, this watch has a modified movement that once the pusher embedded in the winding crown is depressed, spins the pointer which will stop randomly either of those outcomes. It is complemented by a stainless steel deployant buckle crocodile leather strap.

Azimuth is introducing 6 versions of this – a top tier, mid-tier and entry-level model for both males and females. This is also the first Azimuth watch which has a more elegant, female version.

At top of the range is a pavé diamond watch, with the case and dial of the men’s version covered with over 1100 VVS Top Wessleton diamonds (7 carats), and that of the ladies’ 800 VVS Top Wessleton diamonds (4.8 carats). The second tier includes watches with a mother-of-pearl face and a bezel set with 206 (1.2 carats) black and white diamonds, while the entry level versions come with a mother-of-pearl dial with no diamonds. Prices range from S$4,888 to S$23,888.

Azimuth Xtreme-1 Collection

[Press Release] Azimuth’s Xtreme-1 collection has proven its ability to withstand the extremities of nature. Created in a joint collaboration between Azimuth and famed Mexican explorer, Fernando Alberto Lozano Andrade, Azimuth sponsored Fernando’s dangerous and Guinness World Record expedition, the ‘Absolute Altitude’, in December 2010 to scale the highest peak and dive to the deepest depths on the South American continent.

Fernando scaled the Ojos del Salado volcano with the Xtreme-1 Seahum GMT and Xtreme-1 Deep Diver watch, part of the Xtreme-1 collection. Ojos del Salado is the highest active volcano in the world standing at 6,896 metres and is located on the border of Chile and Argentina. It is also the second highest mountain in the Western Hemisphere.

The Azimuth Xtreme-1 watches have also gone through the rigours in high altitude diving – accompanying Fernando in his dives into the Ojos del Salado lake, which lies east of the summit. The lake remains untouched and its details undocumented.

Azimuth SP-1 Landship Limited Edition

Last month we presented a teaser video for the Azimuth Sp-1 Landship.

More details are now available for this wacky, WW1 tank inspired (yes, really) watch.

The turret contains a 3D Wandering Hour Drum, allowing the wearer to read the hour in an upright manner by looking inside the turret, different from the normal way of reading time on a flat plane.

The retrograde minutes, sweeping from the right to left, can be viewed in a similar upright fashion too.

The sponson on the turret doubles up as the winding crown of the watch.

In addition, the SP-1 Landship is fitted with a Wondering Hours and Retrograde Minute complication – Azimuth’s own modified 28,800 vph Swiss-made retrograde minutes and wondering hour movement.

[wandering or wondering?   I wonder?].

Each watch will have its unique serial number, marked on a loose plate mounted on the body of the tank and bolted only when the watch is delivered.
