Marc Jenni “JJJ”

[Press Release] After the successful launch of the watch concept « Prologue » in 2010, Independent watch makerMarc Jenni now presents his new timepiece “JJJ”.

This new timekeeper is based upon the weekdays and their respective symbols (based upon their respective planets). The abbreviation “JJJ” stands for Johann Jakob Jenni, the oldest known ancestor of the family, who practiced the profession of watchmaker around 1780 in Glaris.

The master watch maker has fully integrated the new weekday/symbol-indication in the actual “Prologue” movement without adding any height to the movement. The movement dimensions do not change. The 18 carats white gold case is brushed with the exception of the polished sides. The complex dial is entirely made out of sapphire.

Inspired by signs and symbols, this new creation, the « JJJ », will remind the wearer of the planets associated with the days of the week. This new timepiece is inspired from an indication found on the watches of Johann Jakob Jenny, the oldest known ancestor of Marc’s family who practiced the profession of watch-making around 1780 in Glaris, Switzerland.

Marc Jenni will unveil “JJJ” at Basel world 2011 at the AHCI Booth along with « Prologue » and the original pocket watch from Johann Jakob Jenny – which was the inspiration for using the symbols of the planets.
