Crashing on to the scene comes the Dievas Focal.
Made from 316L stainless steel the 45mm case has a special 3 piece construction: Dievas have patented a process around it they call ’6STEEL’ which hardens the steel.
Here comes the technical part, courtesy of Dievas:
“First the watch case is heated in a mixture of carbon gases at precise low temperatures to allow the diffusion of atoms. This process is duplicated repeatedly over long hours to superimpose supersaturation and concentration of carbon. This results in an accumulation of 30µm layered hardening of the case to 1300 Hv on the Vickers scale(6 times the origunal hardness of normal stainless steel).
The toughened case is then put through a vacuum chamber for plasma coating to elevate the corrosion resistance, particularly to seawater and sweat. This multi-layering is done to the whole watch including the caseback.”
The watch comes with an AR-coated sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 500 meters.
Movement is the Swiss automatic ETA caliber 2824-2, modified by Dievas with a custom DLC-treated rotor.
