Luminox Atacama Field Series

[Press Release] The Atacama field series, named after the Chilean Atacama region, one of the driest areas in the entire world, was the inspiration for the launch of Luminox’s Field series.

Introduced in 2010, newly added to this series of Field timepieces is yet another extension to the series.

Two new offerings take the gun metal look to a new level by adding gun metal PVD plated bracelets to match their cases.

The newest pieces, a day-date model (1824) and a chronograph alarm model (1844) round out the collection and add a more rugged sophistication. These two new extensions offer rugged durability that can withstand the most challenging conditions.

Both versions have 42mm case size and brilliant sunray blue dials with gray markings that match their gun metal plated bracelets. All the Atacama timepieces use the Colormark concept that has performed so well in other Luminox models. The Chrono Alarm models feature the innovative and proprietary highly audible sound box construction for which Luminox is renowned. Water resistance ratings are 200 meters for the day-date model and 100 meters for the chronograph model.

Luminox has yet again breathed new life into a very traditional Field watch category. The new Atacama field gun metal plated bracelet gives the once rugged looking watch a very sleek and everyday feel without loosing its original functionality.

Luminox Steel Colormark 38mm

[Press Release] The new Luminox Steel Colormark 38mm watch is dedicated women who enjoy an active lifestyle.

For Spring 2011, Luminox extends its line of tough yet elegant watches for women with the Steel Colormark 38mm Series 7250, a feminine interpretation of the popular Colormark series.

The six watches in the collection combine beautiful satin-finished steel surfaces with refined details such as mother-of-pearl dials and attractive pink or blue numerals echoed by the contrast stitching of the black leather straps.

They also exhibit all the hallmarks of the Luminox line: Swiss-made mechanisms for perfect functionality, strong materials and solid construction that stand up to everyday knocks, outstanding 200-meter water-resistance ratings, and proprietary Luminox Light Technology (LLT), which glows constantly for up to 25 years to illuminate the essential elements of the display and provide reliable legibility in low-light conditions.

LLT employs micro gas lights mounted on the watch hands, at each hour on the dial, and on the bezel. The system is self-powered and never needs to be “charged” the way typical photoluminescent compounds do. An LLT dial conquers the darkness so its owner can always read the time. The Steel Colormark 38mm will look stylish day or night and glows continuously.

Luminox F-22 Raptor Flight Calculation

Luminox’s second aviation related watch for today – this is the F-22 Raptor model.

A millimeter smaller than the F-35 model at 44mm, the F-22 Raptor Flight Calculation is built of solid blackened titanium.

Like its brother though it also sports a 13-jewel Ronda quartz movement with the same 1/10-second chronograph times. This is controlled by lever-style blackened titanium start/stop and reset pushers.

Chronograph times are displayed via a central seconds hand, concentric minutes and hours totalizers in a subdial at 9 o’clock, and a 1/10-second subdial at 6 o’clock. Added to this is a big date display and day of the week indication. The dial is surrounded by the tachymeter and slide rule bezel.

An antireflective sapphire crystal covers the dial. The caseback depicts the F-22 Raptor aircraft. The watch comes on either a solid link titanium bracelet or a leather strap with red contrast stripe detail.

The F-22 Raptor Flight Calculation is water-resistant to 200 meters and also features the Luminox Light Technology self-powered micro gas tubes.

Luminox F-35 Lightning II Flight Calculation

Watches and aviation: they go together like English footballers and super-injunctions.

Luminox continue the trend (of issuing an aviation related watch, not of threatening to sue Twitter) with two new models – the first of which is this F-35 Lightning II Flight Calculation.

This 45mm model comes in 316L stainless steel and is powered by a 13-jewel Ronda quartz movement.

The watch’s black textured dial features bright orange hands and dial elements.

It has a  1/10-second chronograph, with central seconds hand and concentric minutes and hours totalizer at 9 o’clock.

The 1/10-second indication takes the form of a an interesting semicircular counter with bicolor propeller hand that reads against a two-color scale at the bottom of the dial just above the big date display.

A sapphire crystal with antireflective coating protects the dial, and the caseback depicts the F-35 Lightning II aircraft and the Lockheed Martin logo.

The watch comes shod on a solid link steel bracelet with signature Luminox buckle or black padded leather strap with orange contrast stitching and signature Luminox buckle.

Its water-resistant to 200 meters and features Luminox Light Technology, a proprietary system of self-powered micro gas tubes, mounted on the hands and markers that glow continuously for up to 25 years, so that the dial can always be read, even in low-light conditions.
