Do not adjust your set, or your glasses – the Cartier Tank Folle really does look as if it’s been run over by a truck.

Actually, that analogy is more appropriate than you might think – seeing as this watch is based on Cartier’s 1967 ‘Crash’ collection. Legend has it that these came about following a fiery car crash involving a Cartier exec of the time.
The Dali-esque results certainly are memorable.
This new model will be made in a run of 200 pieces in 18Kt white gold.
Sizing is somewhat tricky, given the shape, but it’s relatively small at 30-34mm. There’s a sapphire crystal – also crazily shaped – and water resistance to 30 meters.
The dial features 1.6 carats of diamonds.
Movement is the manual-wind Cartier caliber MC 8970.

There may be a few months to go until SIHH 2012 opens its doors, but Cartier are already killing it with an amazing collection of pieces ready to roll-out at the annual show.
If you’re not able to pull-off the foppish look with the white gold chain, this also comes with an obsidian and rock crystal stand from which you can hang the watch.
Be careful you don’t fall into this beautiful SIHH 2012 bound piece from Cartier: that dial is deep!
A tenuous watch link? Sure thing :-)
First introduced in 2009, this is the latest update to Cartier’s ‘Pasha de Cartier’ Flying Tourbillon.
Not sure if it’s a trend as such as there have always been examples of this, but there seem to be a lot of new watches coming out recently that are predominantly ‘dark’.
Case: 950/1000 platinum
No, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you, the new Cartier Délices is supposed to look like that!
