It features .. yes, a picture of a baby tiger .. beautifully painted on the underside of the crystal.

Apparently this style of “inside the bottle” painting originated way back in the time of the Qing Dynasty.

Lovely jubbly!

Angular Momentum Verre Èglomisè – Artisan Timepieces Falcon Collection

Angular Momentum’s white-gloved hero returns bearing an Artisan Falcon timepiece.

[Press Release] Angular Momentum has created an exceptional collection of Artisan Timepieces with „Verre Èglomisè“ miniature paintings of beautiful Falcons on the reverse of a 18.300 ct. Sapphire dial, placed in a 18 Kt. white gold case.

The movement a historical self-winding movement manufactured between 1950 and 1960. The crown decorated with a black cabochon diamond. The watch case can be determined by the customer in any size between 38.00 to 42.00 mm.

„There are no two identical Verre Èglomisé Timepieces in the world. Every Timepiece, created and hand made in our ateliers is unique and differs either in theme, size, material, form or function“.

Verre Eglomisé is a term used to describe the art of cold painting and gilding on the reverse of glass. The glass can be painted, gilded with gold, silver or metal leaf using a gelatine adhesive.

A beautiful mirror-like, reflective finish can be achieved, in which designs can be engraved or the leaf chemically treated to create special design effects. The technique dates back to the pre-Roman eras, but its name is derived from 18th century French decorator Jean-Baptise Glomy who is responsible for its popularity today.

In 2004, Angular Momentum has developed a technique of painting on the reverse of the sapphire crystal of timepieces.

Angular Momentum is the only company in the world applying this exclusive and rare art.

Angular Momentum Classic RDS

The mysterious white-gloved figure returns with another new model from Angular Momentum: the Classic RDS.

[Press Release] 12 years ago, Angular Momentum launched its first watch collection named “The Pioneers”. A unique aspect of that watch collection was that time was not displayed by hour and minute hands, but by a revolving hour-disk the size of the dial and a minute hand.

The Revolving-Hour-Disk is printed with a minute track and numbers for the 12 hours in conter-clockwise direction.

The Hour-Disk revolves around once every 12 hours. The hours are read at the 12 o’clock position and the minute hand shows the minutes in the traditional way.

This concept was called RDS and was registered as a technical Patent CH 696899 in 1997.

The new Classic RDS comes in a 36mm three-body 1.4435Ncu Staybrite stainless steel case with mirror polished finish, stainless steel back with hand engraved medallion with floral motive, a double curved sapphire crystal and polished hands.

Movement is a NOS hand-winding movement caliber FHF 96, beating at 18,000 vph and with a 48 hour power reserve.
