Wewood
Wewood are an Italian-born company specialising in the manufacture of eco-friendly wooden watches.
The collection consists of both analog and digital models, and continuing with the sustainable theme, for every watch sold Wewood have committed to plant one tree in return.
The following woods are used in the making of their watches:
Red Wing Celtis (BROWN)
This tree is used for flooring, and when possible, WeWOOD utilizes its waste that would otherwise be destroyed.
Ebony (BLACK)
This is a tree that the greeks called “fruit of the gods” and it was used as an antidote for poisons. Even today it is believed that this wood is able to ward off evil spirits.
Maple (BEIGE)
The wood of this tree is often used for smoking food. It’s also used to create many musical instruments such as violins, basses, guitars…
Guaiaco (ARMY)
It’s a tree native to South America, used in pharmaceutical preparations of herbal teas. Known to be useful for disorders in women with painful periods and people suffering from arthritis pain.
