IWC Portuguese Yacht Club Chronograph

The Volvo Round the World Yacht Race is almost upon us again (barring an overland section to avoid those dastardly Somalian pirates).

IWC – official timekeepers for the race – are giving the winners one of these beauties.

There’ll also be an IWC cup presented to the team who travel the farthest in a 24 hour period.

Back to the watch though: it’s a 45mm titanium piece (this will be the first Yacht Club Chronograph model to be available in titanium).

It has a carbon fiber dial, and houses the IWC Caliber 89361 movement.

This has a 68 hour power reserve, fly-back chronograph and hour and minute counters combined in a single dial.

The strap is a rubber affair.

Very nice (even better from the rear I’d say!).

Raymond Weil @ Qantas Club Lounge Sydney [Clocks In Public Places]

Work, rain, more work and more rain have meant my mission to find ‘clocks in public places’ has been severely curtailed recently.

I’m hoping that next week gives a bit of respite in both areas, but in the meantime I’m going to submit this ever so slightly cheating, and ever-so very fuzzy, image of one of the clocks in the Qantas Club lounge at Sydney Aiport (it’s a public-ish place, right? ;-) ).

The clock is a Raymond Weil Parsifal, but much more than that I know not.  There seemed to be a bunch of them around the lounge so a nice bulk deal for Raymond Weil :-)

More when I can..

Auguste Reymond Cotton Club Worldtime

Took me a couple of goes but I’m definitely warming to this one.   This is the Auguste Reymond Cotton Club Worldtime.

The case is in stainless steel and measures 38.5mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back and is water resistant to 50 meters. The crown features a blue cabochon.

Movement is the Swiss automatic ETA caliber 2893-2 with 21 jewels, 28,800 vph and as power reserve of 42 hours.

It features a GMT complication and has Cotes de Geneva finish.
