UTS 4000M GMT

Published by in UTS on May 30th, 2012 | No Comments »

A nicely chunky model from UTS.

As it should be, given this thing is water resistant to 4000m!

Yes, down to 4km underwater.

Yikes!

It’s a 45mm piece in stainless steel.

It features a trick bezel with a ceramic ball bearing locking system.

Each one is personally fabricated and tested by Nicolaus Spinner (UTS engineer/founder extraordinaire).

Deep Blue World Diver GMT

A phalanx of Deep Blue World Divers for you.

This $699 piece is powered by a Japanese Miyota FS16 quartz movement.

In stainless steel, it’s 46mm in size.  There’s a sapphire crystal and a very commendable water resistance (for $700) to 500m.

Toy Watch Jet Lag GMT

Another Toy Watch for you – the Jet Lag GMT.

This one lives up to the toy moniker, particularly around the bezel.

Still, it is cheap at 175 Euros, and does have GMT and date indicators.

What else?

It’s 40mm in size from a ‘special polymer’ and carbon.

Apparently that makes it both light and strong.

The cases, dials and bracelets can be had in black, grey, army green and sand colours.

IceLink Zermatt GMT

There comes a time in our lives for all of us when we must fulfil the need to wear six watches at once.

Err, actually there doesn’t really, does there?

But if you do, for whatever strange reason decide that in fact a single watch or even, heaven forbid, dual time zones simply won’t cut it, IceLink have the answer!

At 63mm – yep, 63mm – this monster set of five timezones (New York, London, Dubai, Hong Kong, a ‘home’ zone and the curiously named IceLink zone) will set you back an equally large $44,000.

396 of these will be made, in titanium with 18kt rose gold PVD.

Movement is the manual-wind ILMM1 caliber with 43 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 48 hours.

Madness :-)

U-Boat U-42 GMT

Speaking of big watches, the Masters of Massive – U-Boat – have an updated U-42 GMT limited edition.

In 300 pieces, this 53mm model comes in titanium, which should at least keep the weight down.

It has a sapphire crystal and is water resistant to 300 meters.

The dial and hands are brass, which is interesting.  I wonder if hidden away behind the glass they’ll still be affected by the usual pattination? Wouldn’t the inside have to be inert for them not to?

Might make for some unique personalisation of each piece over time.

The movement is based on an ETA unit and has been modified by U-BOAT. It features a GMT complication.

The strap is brown leather and fitted with a titanium tongue buckle.
