Ateliers de Monaco La Sirene

Apparently this piece is named and inspired by Charlene Wittstock in honor of her marriage to HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco.

For the design of the dial they have used The King Protea (Protea cynaroides), the national flower of South Africa – home country of Princess Charlene.

It is housed in a 39mm 18kt white gold case with a Swiss automatic movement featuring a Silicium escapement and an engraved rotor.

MSRP starts at 80,000 Euros.

Chopard Happy Sport “La vie en rose”

Published by in Chopard on May 14th, 2011 | 1 Comment »

[Press Release] Chopard’s latest addition to the Happy Sport collection, “La vie en rose” radiates summer while retaining the essence of the Happy Sport collection: sports chic with the signature free-moving diamonds.

Roses are the theme to the smallest details: from the bezel set with rose sapphires, to the rosé mother-of-pearl dial and matching satin strap. Adding to the motif is a delicately contoured rose on the dial with free-moving diamonds and rose sapphires that dance like dewdrops across its petals.

“La vie en rose” is 36 mm in diameter and a limited production timepiece available in stainless steel (250 pieces) or rose gold. The rose gold models are available with either a gem-set rose gold bezel (25 pieces) or a non-set bezel (250 pieces).

Cecil Purnell La Croix Tourbillon

Woah.  I’m getting vertigo looking down into this seriously deep Cecil Purnell Tourbillon!

The case is in 18kt rose or white gold and measures a less than shy 53mm. It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal, a sapphire display back and is water resistant to 50 meters.

Movement is the Swiss made hand-wind CP caliber 3888 with 19 jewels, 21,600 vph and a power reserve of 60 hours.

Wow!

L’Epee La Ronde

Published by in L'Epee on April 2nd, 2011 | 1 Comment »

I’ve mentioned before how I’d love to feature more interesting clocks on Winderz – and from the image below I hope you can see why!

Loving this L’Epee La Ronde from designer Matthew Norman.

Movement is a mechanical hand-wind with decorative key, caliber 1910 with 11 jewels and an 8 day power reserve.

It features palladium-plated discs with circular Pavés du Jura motif, and a horizontal escapement.

Beautiful, in a big industrial sort of way :-)

Hublot La Clé Du Temps Watch

Ok Hublot, all is forgiven :-)

Check out this monster.  Due out some time this year this is the Hublot La Clé Du Temps.

Part of Hublot’s high-end Confrerie family – courtesy of the acquisition of Confrerie and Mathias Buttet – this is the watch Batman would have designed for himself, don’t you think?

The watch has a tourbillon based movement, where the tourbillon juts out of the bottom side of the watch (the vertically mounted tourbillon).  The watch dial is on the upper right of the dial.

The lower left of the dial is a power reserve indicator and above it is the selector for speeding up for slowing down time.

Say what?  Speeding up and slowing down time?!

Yep, this watch let’s you get all Hiro on the World :-)   Using a crown on the left of the watch you can alter the time to run fast or run slow and hence ‘control time’.  The movement always retains knowledge of the correct time – so you can always switch it back to “normal” mode to avoid messing with the space-time continuum and dooming humanity…

Not much more to report yet, but the glowing hands and Tourbillon ‘propellor’ certainly look interesting.

Price is likely to be out of this world too, but you can always go back in time and win last night’s lottery once you have one on your wrist ;-)
