Hublot King Power Usain Bolt

I’m afraid we’re finishing in pretty much last place with this one, given that it was announced some four weeks ago now.

Travel and other commitments will do that to you :-)

Still, with the Olympics almost upon us, I think it’s relevant, don’t you?

The King Power Usain Bolt is a 48mm limited 250 piece model in black ceramic and titanium PVD.

It has an AR-coated sapphire crystal and water resistance to 100 meters.

Movement is the automatic Hublot caliber HUB4100. This has 27 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 42 hours.

It’s a nice watch, but it has one fundamental flaw ..

.. it always runs fast! *boom boom*

Hysek Kilada Power Reserve

Something a little more ‘filled in’ than their normal fare from Hysek – the Kilada Power Reserve.

It’s 41mm piece in 18kt rose gold.

There’s an AR-coated sapphire crystal and a sapphire display back.

An automatic movement with 28 jewels, 28,800 vph and a power reserve of 42 hours rounds out the package.

Simple and yet effective, no?

The little power reserve triangle is quite funky :-)

Tiret Gotham Power Reserve Floating Diamonds

Tiret can be a little, err, hit and miss with their models.

Thankfully, this one isn’t too over the top.

The Power Reserve Floating Diamonds features a 42 hour reserve ETA 2897 automatic movement.

This features a visible Tiret New York engraving; additional train wheel bridge with Tiret New York engraving on side and an oscillating surface smoothed weight.

Not much else of use in the fluffy press release I’m afraid :-)

Hublot King Power Unico GMT

I’m going to attempt to use a bit of the quiet holiday period to catch up with some of the backlog of posts I really should have done earlier in the year!

Unsurprisingly, given how many watches they pump out, there are a couple of Hublots on the list.

Thankfully, this one’s a corker, unlike some of their other recent models (**cough**).

The King Power Unico GMT has a rather nice trick up its sleeve – 24 timezones on one dial.

You need to line up the ‘angles’ to see local time around the world, courtesy of the four rotating discs around the bezel.

This is a 48mm piece and will come in either 18k ‘king gold’ or black ceramic.

Both versions have ceramic bezels.

The movement is a Hublot caliber HUB1220 automatic GMT with 72 hours of power reserve.

If you’re keen, this should be out early(ish) 2012.

Not long now! :-)

Hublot F1 King Power Interlagos [Video]

The Formula One season has come to an end for another year, and with the final race came the final 2011 Hublot King Power F1 special – the Interlagos.

This variant looks really good with center-of-the-Brazilian-flag blue flashes.

There’ll be 250 pieces made of this 48mm carbon fiber model.

The bezel is ceramic  and resembles an F1 ‘brake disc’.

Inside is an automatic mechanical chronograph movement.

The watch comes shod with a horback alligator strap, with cobalt blue stitching.

Hublot F1™ King Power Suzuka

Another day, another Hublot King Power special.

I’m very much looking forward to hanging out with the every-jolly Jean-Claude Biver as he presents me with my very own King Power Paul.

It’s coming soon, I can feel it ;-)

On the plus side though, this piece in honour of the Suzuka Japanese Grand Prix is rather handsome; it also benefits the Japanese Earthquake appeal, and that’s a very good thing.

Read on for the full press release, and a surprise visit from a Korean mega-star (spoiler: it’s Jang Geun Seok … no, me either … ).

[Press Release] One day prior to the 2011 FORMULA 1 JAPANESE GRAND PRIX, Round 15 of the FIA Formula One World Championship™, as the Official Watchmaker of Formula 1™, Hublot revealed the new F1™ King Power Suzuka watch, named after the reputed Japanese circuit. This exclusive timepiece is impressed with white and red colours, inspired by the Japanese flag.

Combined with stately F1™ logo and impactful colours, the F1™ King Power Suzuka features several unique aspects made from an array of high-tech materials directly inspired by Formula 1™ such as a ceramic bezel with a circular-grained satin finish adorned with multiple holes to represent a high performance brake disk, a strap made from rubber and Nomex™, a synthetic fiber developed by Dupont De Nemours and used to make the suits worn by F1™ drivers. This model is offered as limited edition up to 250 pieces. On the occasion of the press conference for the launch, Hublot announced its continuous support to KIDS EARTH FUND(KEF) by auctioning the watch with precious limited number “0 of 250”, and all the proceeds will be donated to KEF, in the same manner of Ginza boutique’s opening before.

KEF is establishing their 12th home base named “Kids Earth Home” in Watari, which was affected by the huge quake and TSUNAMI this March, and the home will be a new foothold for their further activities to support more kids living in Tohoku area. Hublot hopes this commitment will help children to restore their energy to have brilliant dreams. Ms. Harumi Torii, founder of KEF, and Ms. Ai Tominaga, one of KEF advisers as well as a famous fashion model, were invited to the press conference as partners for charity and celebrated the new product launch together.

At the end of the press conference, Mr. Jang Geun Seok, a South Korean actor and singer, who is a fan of Hublot and F1™, appeared as a surprise guest to support the charity auction of the F1™ King Power Suzuka model numbered “0 of 250”.

KIDS EARTH FUND (KEF)

“Kids Helping Kids” is the philosophy and cornerstone of the organization. Since its establishment in 1988, KEF has been sponsored by corporate enterprises and individuals and carried out distribution of monetary and non-monetary donations (e.g. medical supplies, art/education materials etc.) by utilizing the fund. The selected brilliant artworks of the children are reproduced with support of corporate sponsorships, to create marketable products. KEF has held children’s art exhibitions worldwide in such major locations as Pompidou Center in Paris, GATT Headquarters in Geneva, the Pushkin Museum in Moscow and the World Trade Center in Boston.

Hublot and KIDS EARTH FUND (KEF)

Hublot, led by its CEO Jean-Claude Biver, was one of the first luxury brands to take action for tragic disaster. Just after the chaos, by launching a campaign on its official website to raise funds to Red Cross Society for support. Then Hublot donated 10,000 sets of coloured pencil to KEF to support their activities. The heart-warming gifts had been brought to the children by KEF and they are helpfully used in consecutive drawing workshops in Tohoku areas. On the occasion of the opening ceremony of first-ever boutique in Japan in Ginza, special and unique items donated from Hublot ambassadors, such as Diego Maradona or Manchester United and so on, were auctioned to raise fund for KEF. Hublot also donated all the proceeds from an auction of “King Power Red Devil” – precious limited number “000 of 500”- to KEF.

Hublot King Power “Dwyane Wade”

Following on from the naming of Miami Heat star ‘D-Wade’ to the position of Hublot ambassador earlier this year, the brand has now released this special limited edition King Power in his honor.

Wearing the Flash’s number ’3′ at the, err, three O’clock position (where else?), this 48mm model comes in a ceramic case.

The colour scheme is Miami Heat inspired – red/white – and the leather/rubber combo strap comes replete with cross-stitched netting.

Only 500 pieces will be available.

Well, 499 probably, as I’m sure Mr Wade gets one :-)
